Reserve Bank of India Guidelines
The Reserve Bank of India has mandated new rules for handling recurring transactions for Indian credit and debit cardholders. Regulatory requirements apply to recurring auto-renewable subscriptions preventing these subscriptions from auto-renewing without the customer’s consent. Instead of customers giving a one-time confirmation, banks must inform customers in advance about every recurring payment. In addition, consumers with an ongoing subscription will have to authenticate once more to enroll in the new e-mandate.
Directly concerned, ESET strived to provide Indian customers more control and transparency in the transaction process of their payments. It was crucial to set up new compliance renewal processes to onboard new customers, get them to sign up for auto-debits, and preserve the renewal of acquired customers. That’s where Nexway comes in.
